Telehealth Therapy Session

Marissa Nowowiejski, LSW specializes in working with children, adolescents, and families. She brings a compassionate, supportive presence to therapy and is especially skilled at helping young people and caregivers navigate anxiety, behavioral challenges, relational stress, and developmental transitions.

Marissa takes a systemic, trauma-informed approach to care, meaning she looks at the whole picture—relationships, environment, and individual strengths—rather than focusing on problems in isolation. Her work is developmentally attuned and culturally responsive, and she strives to create a space where clients feel understood, respected, and safe to be themselves.

She has extensive experience supporting neurodivergent children and adolescents, using strengths-based, sensory-aware, and flexible interventions tailored to each client’s unique needs. Marissa also works closely with caregivers, offering guidance and support to strengthen communication, emotional regulation, and family connection.

In addition to therapy, Marissa has a strong background in crisis intervention, school-based work, and collaboration with community providers, which allows her to advocate effectively for her clients both in and outside the therapy room. Marissa holds a Master’s degree in Marriage and Family Therapy from National University in California, and a Master’s degree in Psychology, Child and Adolescent Development from Southern New Hampshire University. She is passionate about helping individuals and families feel more connected, resilient, and confident as they move forward.
