Chen Xia, LSW has extensive experience in clinical assessment, crisis intervention, and evidence-based therapy, including CBT, DBT, trauma-informed care, mindfulness, and motivational interviewing.
During her clinical training at Jewish Family and Children’s Services of Northern New Jersey, Chen provided therapy to adolescents and seniors, facilitated school-based groups for children, and worked closely with families to establish and achieve meaningful treatment goals. Her background also includes hands-on work supporting adults with autism in vocational and community settings, giving her a deep appreciation for neurodiversity and individualized care.
Chen brings a unique blend of clinical insight and rigor to her work, supported by her Master of Social Work from Rutgers University and a Master’s degree in Business Analytics. She is known for being calm, attentive, and collaborative, creating a safe space where clients feel heard, respected, and empowered to make lasting changes.
Chen is especially passionate about helping clients navigate anxiety, depression, trauma, life transitions, emotional regulation, and stress, and she tailors her approach to meet each person’s unique needs and strengths. She believes therapy works best as a partnership and is committed to walking alongside her clients with empathy, clarity, and care. Chen is fluent in Mandarin Chinese as well as English.
